Easter Cuteness

6 months?!

Ella is 6 months old! Craziness! I try to take a picture of her at every month 'birthday', here are the last few. I try to make these more of normal life, a brief snap shot of her development at that time. The 4th month pic is packed away in another SD card, but it's of her in her knitted snow suit on a walk after her first snow storm :) It's cute, trust me!

We are now in Arizona! We have been here for about a week (spent about 2 weeks visiting family in CO and TX) We have begun the grueling process of unpacking. No fun! We are super excited for the features of our new house that we get to enjoy; garage, back yard, washer/dryer/dishwasher, carpet...so luxurious! We are excited to be here, but are missing our friends in CT a lot. It feels like we should be getting back soon to catch up and visit with everyone...not so. We'll miss all of our friends dearly! Here are a few pics from our last few weeks there. This first one is from the going away party the Hustedts and Allreds threw for us. It was so great to be all together one last time :)

Dear Blog world - I had a baby - and here she is!

Yes, it's true. I did have a baby! Which explains my complete absence from blogging. Ella Catherine Ramos was born on 9-20-11 and is already 4.5 months old! Craziness! We lover her so so so so much and are enjoying her cute and sweet personality. She giggles and laughs, likes to read books, chew on toys, and watch us eat.
Here is a picture from yesterday, very up to date :)

And here she is just one day old :) 6lbs 20'' born at like 1am on a Tuesday at Yale New Haven Hospital. Funny thing about her hair, on the top grows!

The Last Campout! Adirondacks!

So we went on our 'last' camp out for a while. The baby is coming, then winter, then who knows where we'll be and if we'll want to go camping there!

The Adirondacks have been a place that I've wanted to check out since moving up here. Not sure why - but I did, and we went! First off the Adirondacks are HUGE - so picking an exact place to go was challenging. I was more interested in Mountains than lakes...so we aimed to stay near Whiteface mountain in the 'High Peaks' region. Whiteface Mtn. is right next to Lake Placid - and we camped at a KOA camp ground right by both places. We lucked out with an ideal campsite and had a blast.

Here's our little set up :) We love out little tent. Every time we camp we marvel at how much we love it. It's a Wenzel - you should get one :)

Right along our campground was the flumes waterfall of the Ausable River. It was really fun exploring and we went to a swimming hole area to take a dip - no pictures - we miss our waterproof camera!

 Then we were off to tour some of the Olympic sties from the 1980 Winter Olympics. Here is Daniel on the bobsled/luge/skeleton track. We got to walk all the day down! Look how vertical this turn is!!!!

Then to the Ski Jump area!

We also got to go up on a Gondola ride to the top of Whiteface Mountain!

 The trip ended with Daniel winning first place for best camping hubby ever. He was very helpful and did all of my jobs for me to help me feel comfortable while camping at 7 months pregnant. I made reservations for this trip about 4 months ago, when I knew nothing about anything. As the aches and discomforts of the 3rd trimester began, I started to become nervous for this trip. Daniel was really great and really did help make everything much better than I could have imagined. Thanks babe! 

T - 3 months!

Our baby girl will be here in 3 short months! Yesterday was her -3 months bday :) We get more and more excited as each day passes. With only 3 months left, I'm in the final stretch. I can already tell I'll greatly miss the simplicity and ease of my 2nd trimester. Here is my first official belly shot at 27 weeks. Isn't funny how sometimes you feel big, and other times you feel small?

I think this week my first official craving has begun...luckily it's just chocolate, and not anything strange :) Every single night for over a week I have been needing chocolate. I made a big batch of no bake cookies to get by until my next trip to the grocery store.Yummm :) 

We purchased a stroller from Craigslist and are really happy with it! The carriage can face forward, flip around to outward facing, or just come off completely so you can snap in your carseat instead. There are a few minor dings here and there, but it is so functional and was such a great deal that they don't bother me at all.

Our little babies Grandma's are also so excited for her arrival! Both my mom and Daniel's mom have been sewing precious keepsakes for her over the past few months. I love each special item so much. She is going to be one loved little baby. 

 Dresses

My mom and I made these cute and super simple dresses in May...they even have matching headbands :)

 Susan made this blessing dress! I'm still amazed at her sewing skills! It's so beyond anything I can comprehend. Isn't it just gorgeous?!

Quilts

Susan whipped together this quilt in a matter of hours! She made the top while at my place one afternoon, and then we took it to the farm in Maryland to quilt it. Daniel's grandparents live on 'the farm' and we go there a few times a year. Grandma Cox is a big quilter, so we put the baby quilt on her big frame and all started quilting - Susan, Aunt Connie, Daniel's sisters Raquel and Cristina, Daniel and Myself all have stitches in this quilt :) Isn't that neat? I just love it!

My mom inhereted this quilt top about a year ago. Since it was just a top, it was in perfect condition, never used. After months of debating, we finally confiremd it was sewn by my mom's Great Grandmother. My mom has been fixing little details, adding borders and giving it all the TLC a little quilt could ever need. Now it's being quilted by my mom and her quilting group in San Antonio. They are adding beautiful designs to it, making it even more lovely. This quilt will eventually go to our little girl, making it 6 generations deep! How neat is that?!

What fun we've had! Even more to come once she's here!
